I am a self taught artist working with acrylics, oils, dimension art, fluidity acrylic pour, and watercolors. I paint abstracts and landscapes. But I love doing abstract paintings as it lets my mind run free as I paint and allows each individual to interpret the art as they see it. I may start with a certain idea in mind, but usually end up with something surprisingly different.
My introduction to art began in 1978 when I took a rapid painting art class painting along with the instructor. I enjoyed it so much I began painting on my own, but only on occasion. Off and on though out the years I have dabbled in different art mediums. In 2016 I moved to Lake Wissota from Seattle, Washington. I became so entranced with the beauty of the trees and water, especially during the winter snows, that it inspired me to begin to paint again. But it wasn't until late 2017 with the encouragement of family and new friends that I picked up a brush and started doing landscapes along with abstract and fluidity art. I sometimes combine these in one painting to give texture and dimension. And now I am learning and experimenting with watercolors.
My art has been on display at the Elmaro Winery, Artisan Forge Studio and Gallery, Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls, and The Pine Harbor Studios at Lake Wissota. I recently became a member of The Valley Art Association where I have met many wonderful artists of different mediums who inspire me to keep painting and learning new techniques.
