Watercolor with Kris Parins
Do you wish you could loosen up? Do you feel stalled in your progress as an artist? Whether your work is abstract or realistic, it’s time to get out of your comfort zone and put the joy back in your watercolor. This 3-day workshop employs techniques that are fun and exciting! We’ll experiment with nontraditional ways of applying the versatile medium of watercolor and try out some alternative materials. Kris will have some new methods for those of you who have studied with her before, and will guide you through a more in-depth understanding of the process.
Emphasis is on planning, good design, and self-evaluation as tools to take your art to the next level. Students will choose their subject matter and work from their own original source material (photos or sketches.)
Kris Parins has been featured in Splash 9, in Watercolor Artist Magazine’s 2010 “Ones to Watch,” and on the cover of the December 2011 issue. She is a signature member of FWS, SW, WyWS, and FSWS, her work is exhibited nationally and has won many awards. As a former graphic designer, she emphasizes the importance of value in the construction of a good painting. She is an enthusiastic and supportive instructor.
