I am a Pastel Artist living in Chippewa Falls. I have always loved drawing and sketching from an early age.
Unfortunately, as I got older, working a job with long hours took over, which left very little for drawing or sketching. So, I put my artwork aside.
It was not until I had my children, both with special needs, that I felt the need to return to my art again. With demands of a full-time job with overtime and children who needed me there for them, I felt I needed to create a space where I could both refocus and recharge for them and to, also, help my mental health. So, I returned to my artwork.
I decided to start taking classes to research other mediums that other artists use.
I am a person who loves to push myself outside of my comfort zone, so I decided to sign up for an Advanced Pastel class. I have never taken a pastel class before or worked with this medium, but it became a mind changer for me. It gave me the push I needed. I truly enjoy working with pastels. It is a very forgivable medium to work with and very easy to get the affects I wanted in my artwork.
