A native of Wisconsin, I attended the UW Eau Claire earning a BA degree in Advertising and Graphic Design. I relocated to Arizona in 1985. While there, I took additional graphic design classes and other studio classes at Mesa Community College. It was there I studied 3D computer art and participated in the initial stages of computer technology in art. Later, at Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff, I studied stone and bronze sculpture.
From Mesa, I moved to the Red Rock country of Sedona. My work was featured in galleries and juried exhibitions. I also served on the Sedona Arts and Culture Commission. The beautiful landscapes inspired much of my artwork.
Four years ago, I had a stroke, and as a result, I can no longer use my dominant right hand. This meant I had to learn to draw and sculpt with my left hand. I found it challenging to reengage. Art helped encourage me. I found myself revisiting old interests in a new way and am now experimenting with different sculpture media.
