Send me an email.

Years ago, while living in Minneapolis, friends introduced me to BATIK. The process and results were such fun and so gratifying. I filled my walls and the walls of my family but wanted to do more. That led to many art fairs and eventually to a shop.
After all these years, and hundreds of Batiks, I am still excited by the process and the results. I love the surprise factor of how different fabric textures, combinations of dyes, various waxing techniques, and unpredictable crackle all combine to create surprises. Each batik is unique.
My subjects are usually botanicals and landscapes. Batik lends itself to bold design rather than subtle detail. One batik seems to lead to another, as I am inspired to try the same design in a variety of colors and sizes. Just fabric, wax, and dye are such simple elements yielding such delightful results!
That is Batik!
My work can be seen in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls, WI at Tangled Up In Hue in Eau Claire and Valley Art Gallery in Chippewa Falls. I participate in the Mable Tainter Art Faire in November, Banbury Art Crawl in February, and Valley Art Association annual fair in Chippewa Falls.
