Pursuing painting had been in the back of my mind for some time and when I retired, I took the leap to join an art league in the Northwoods of Wisconsin 9 years ago. It really changed my life as I found great teachers and beauty in creating something special through painting and was able to display my artwork in galleries there. I always loved watercolor and enjoy the gracefulness and flow of colors, but over the years also found fun and discipline in venturing into acrylic and pastels. While I have an overabundance of ideas to paint, most of my work comes from seeing a landscape, building, photo, or family in a moment notice that speaks paint me. Now living in Eau Claire I have found a different landscape to pursue which is exciting and also a challenge. Being a member of 2 art groups here will inspire me to broaden my creativity in what I paint.
My artwork has been honored over the years with 3 State awards by the Wisconsin Regional Art Program. I was a participant twice in The Artist Muse: Wisconsin Artists and Wisconsin Poets which compared the interplay of inspiration between the two forms of artistic expression. Through the Eagle River Artscape Program my artwork was selected three times by businesses who promote the arts there with hanging banners of artwork throughout the city.
While not painting, my husband and I enjoy exploring our new home city of Eau Claire with the vast array of bike trails.
